The new Sony Ericsson W960, recently announced , is the new top of the line Walkman phone. Headline features include 8GB of flash memory (700 albums, 8000 songs), UMTS (3G) and WiFi connectivity and an autofocus 3.2 megapixel camera. The W960’s software platform is UIQ 3.0 on Symbian OS 9.1. The W960 weighs in at 119g with dimensions of 109×55x16 mm and has a monoblock form factor.”You couldn’t ask for a better music mix of high performance media player and intuitive phone. The touchscreen is complemented by a regular keyboard and the phone itself is amplified by the Media Manager programme and the many music accessories. The days of taking an MP3 player, a camera and a phone with you when you leave the house are definitely over,” Nicklas Sivander, Product Manager for the W960 Walkman phone said.

The W580i is a slim slider phone with a neat trick; it has a built-in pedometer along with some neat programs to make use of it. The shape is cool and the curve on the bottom is interesting and smart at the same time. However I’m not that crazy when you open it up. There are these lights on the side plus you get these shiny things on the keypad that kind of remind me of a rapper’s teeth.

The big wigs over at Sony Ericsson have flashed us these taster snaps of their latest Walkman phone, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for retail details on the bony blower.
