Nokia just launched the Nokia 6301 phone. It offers consumers seamless voice and data mobility across GSM cellular and WLAN networks via Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technology. The Nokia 6301 phone uses UMA technology to integrate the benefits of landline and a mobile phone.
Yves Maitre, Senior Vice President, Devices, Orange (the company that will offer the phone) said “The Nokia 6301 is a stylish new addition to our Unik range of converged fixed and mobile phones. Orange’s Unik offer brings together the convenience of a single phone and tariff at home and on the move and the widest range of UMA handsets. The Nokia 6301, with its sleek candy bar design and attractive stainless steel exterior adds to the appeal of Unik for Orange customers.”

Samsung and fashion label Armani have kicked off their recently announced partnership with the launch of a credit-card sized handset that sports a user interface with a vibro-feedback feature.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen Samsung’s Armani phone, but its official unveiling happened in Milan yesterday, following Giorgio’s runway show. The credit-card-sized phone is 10.5 mm wide, has haptic feedback and will be on sale in Europe from November. An Armani-Samsung Casa LCD TV is to follow in January. The Nokia N81 8GB-packed music phone is likely to be one of the new multimedia phones introduced by Nokia at its London launch on 29 August.
The Nokia N81 hasn’t been officially announced by Nokia yet. But a viral advertising campaign is underway which features what appears to be the N81 with a countdown timer onscreen counting down to 9am on 29 August. That’s the time of Nokia’s UK press launch (Tech.co.uk will of course be reporting from the launch).

BenQ has just lifted the curtain off the E72 smartphone at Computex 2007, and what you get is a candybar handset that runs on Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard, powered by a TI OMAP 1030 260Mhz processor and is ably aided by 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM.

Samsung announced the Ultra Special series at the ITU Telecom 2006 show in Hong Kong. The SGH-F500, also known as Ultra Video, is going to be the first phone on the market to directly support the DivX video codec. DivX has been showing it’s very keen to expand with the company previously saying it wants to get DivX technology into more consumer electronics (by that I mean DVRs, DVD players etc and not a DivX hairdryer).
